Progress Report

It’s been a while since I last wrote, and much has happened in that time. It’s hard to know where to begin.

I am going to overcome the urge to give a detailed report right now of everything because it is late and I need to get to bed. But I’m happy to report that we have purchased a new home, and we have moved in. This was a huge step for us. It’s not a very big house, and it is certainly not new, but we are really happy to be here. The best part about the house (besides it being ours) is the large backyard. The kids have already taken to spending hours out there running around, getting dirty, exploring and just generally having a great time. I love it.

Enjoying the irrigation.

Along with getting a new house, we somehow got a new dog. She’s a shepherd (probably Australian, perhaps a Kelpie) mixed with husky and her name is Buffy (yes, like the Vampire Slayer). Her coolest trait (besides being great with the kids) is that she has two different colored eyes: one dark brown and one pale icy blue. I tell people that it’s a magic eye. Some people think she looks like Robocop. She’s really great with the kids, and I’m excited to write more in the coming days and weeks about how she is helping us out.

Meet Buffy!

Finally, the kids had their two month evaluation at Brain Balance a few weeks ago. This also deserves an entire post, but I will just mention briefly here that both Kimball and Anahí continue to progress. Kimball has started to surpass his age level in some areas. Anahí is progressing a bit more slowly, but she continues to get stronger and more focused. Like I said, more details to come.

So that’s it. We’ve got a really full schedule coming up, so I’m sure there will be no shortage of things to write about. The problem is just finding the time. We’ll do our best.
